Front Row Boston is a music performance series featuring exceptional artists across multiple genres from Boston’s best music venues. Produced by WGBH Music and Crossroads Presents in association with NPR Music.
To capture the most authentic, first-person experience of a live show, Front Row Boston is primarily shot with handheld cameras—no sound stages, no second takes. Directed by WGBH’s Front Row Boston Executive Producer Greg Shea, the new digital and broadcast initiative presents a raw, immersive concert experience with energetic performances by local legends and emerging talents.
“The goal with this series is to capture the feeling of being at a great live show. We’re putting viewers in the green room with the artist, on the street with passionate fans, and, of course, up front and center with the best seat in the house,” said Shea.
“In my line of work I am lucky enough to witness many of the special moments that make for such a vibrant music scene in Boston,” said Crossroads Presents Talent Buyer and Front Row Boston Producer Kegan Harrington. “It is these special moments that I look forward to sharing with the viewers of Front Row Boston.”
Music videos from all of the bands featured in this series—and then some—can be found on the WGBH Music channel.
